Olympics Mania

08/08/08 has finally arrived and that means the Olympics will begin! I would consider myself an Olympic junkie. I love watching all the different sports and competitions. Of course I'm biased that I like the winter Olympics more because of curling, but my favorite sport during the Summer Olympics would be diving and volleyball.

This weekend I plan on doing nothing but watching the competitions. I printed out the TV schedule and the fridge is stocked with yummy snacks and good stuff to drink. I finally finished my last summer class and I just want to kick back and relax. What better way then to watch the USA go for gold!

Have a great weekend everyone! I know I will!

GO USA!!

Good News!

My dad's pathology report came back and there is no sign of cancer! We are all breathing a sigh of relief and very thankful he's going to be okay. I hope we all stay on even ground for awhile. I'm ready to get off the rollercoaster and take a breather.

No News

No results yet from the biopsy. Hopefully we'll hear something tomorrow. I don't want to wait through the weekend. It's tough enough waiting another day. Dad is doing well. He's experiencing some numbness down his leg. The visiting nurse says it's probably due to the nerves being moved/cut during the surgery. But he's up and around trying to stay out of trouble and out of my mother's hair. Easier said than done for a man who can't sit still!

So Far So Good

My dad's surgery went well. The doctor found that a blood vessel had burst in one of his leg muscles. When that happened, blood collected and clotted causing a hematoma. The doctor is very optimistic that there is no cancer, but we'll know for sure on Thursday.

On a side note, I found out my Grandma visited my aunt in one of her dreams. It was also about my dad and his surgery. She's making her rounds! I also saw another rainbow this morning that went right over the hospital. Good signs! I hope they keep coming the next few days!

Tomorrow's the Day

Well tomorrow is the big day. My dad's surgery is first thing in the morning. Things were calm until a few days ago. My mom started to unravel again. I understand her worry. I understand how much she depends on him. I do too. He takes care of us in so many ways no matter how he's feeling or what he's going through. It's taking everything I have to keep my mom calm. She's finally coming out of her MS attack and I don't want her to relapse.

I saw a rainbow tonight after a storm. That made me feel better. I just want tommorow to be done and over with and we can all move on and put this behind us. I just want calmness.
